A smartphone with a micro projector embedded has been somewhat of an elusive dream ever since the first iPhone. With every new smartphone on the market, the media run rampant telling stories how we’re finally getting a phone with a projector.
But it never happens, mostly because the projector requires technology that still can’t fit in the thin casing of a smartphone.
That’s why the guys and girls at Beam decided to make a small and portable projector.
It’s equipped with a smart computer and can turn any flat surface into a big screen, all while looking stylish.
It’s easy to set up and control with the Apple or the Android app, and it can be connected to basically any smartphone today. You can screw it into any light socket or use the included power cable to place it on any flat surface.
Beam can be used to play games, watch movies, stream content from a network drive, listen to music from its speakers, or play projected board games.
It can also be connected to your alarm clock so that when it wakes you up, it also projects the latest news and weather forecast on the wall next to your bed.
It’s currently on Kickstarter and can be pledged for as low as $5.
