Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display:

It is all about Screen Screen Screen! The resolution of the screen is 2880 x 1800 with 220 pixels per inch. The density is too high that individual pixel cannot be distinguished, which is why the pictures and videos have extreme sharp view.

This Retina Display Macbook is equipped with Intel Core i7 quad-core processor which clocks at 2.3 GHz, 8GB of DDR3L 1600MHz RAM, a flash storage memory of 256 GB, Nvidia GeForce GT 650M GPU with 1GB of GDDR5 memory. The operating system used is OS X 10.7 Lion. It has got excellent speakers.

The drawback we would say is its high cost of repair and battery replacement.

Dell XPS 15z:

When it is kept closed, it is certain that you will confuse it with an Apple Macbook. From the aluminum chassis to the speakers, Dell has tried to lure the customers by making its laptop appear like a Macbook, with a backlit keyboard. It is equipped with a Intel Core i7-2640M which clocks at 2.8 GHz, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, capacity of hard drive is 1TB running at 5400rpm. A dedicated Nvidia GT-525M graphics card is for multimedia purposes.

The bottom of the chassis doesn’t have an accessible panel, which makes up-gradation a difficult job. An upsetting feature of Dell XPS 15z is its keyboard, which makes it uncomfortable to work with. If you can bear with this “not so great” keyboard then you will have an impressive alternative for Macbook.

Acer Aspire S7 Series:

Acer Introduces Aspire S7 Series and it is the third of Acer’s touch screen enabled ultrabook. These ultrabooks fold back to 180 degrees and lie flat. It is a 13-inch display screen, the promising feature is its Gorilla glass body which sets it apart from aluminum fashioned bodies of ultrabooks. It has IPS 10 point display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Acer Aspire S7 has a cushion material embedded between the aluminum body and the Gorilla glass, if it slips off from your hand then the impact will be absorbed by the cushion material and the glass would escape any damage. This series is equipped with Intel Core i5-3317UB or i7-3517U processor with a RAID 0 configuration, which makes reading/writing extremely fast.

This Windows 8 enabled touch screen ultrabook will be available from 26th of October.

HP Pavilion g6:

The entire body of HP Pavilion g6 is made up of plastic, but the body doesn’t give that feel and will not remind you the amount you paid for it. It has 15.6 inch display, with a dual core 2350M clocking at 2.3GHz and the RAM is of 4 GB. If you want to add up to the capacity of RAM, you can do it easily, also hard drive can be replaced with ease. The battery has a capacity to last for 5 hours.

However, it lacks certain ports and slots like USB 3.0, Display port, eSATA and Express card slot. Due to these drawbacks, it is not possible to transfer high resolution photos and HD videos. The resolution of the screen is not adequate along with a weak lid and the quality of the speakers is poor. But, do not forget that HP Pavilion g6 is a “budget” laptop.

  1. What I think is that , Dell Xps 15z performs way better than the Macbook Pro Retina , So if the list is order wise, I think Dell should be the first.
